Causeway Magazine- Urgent appeal from departing editors….

We’ve appealed politely. We’ve pleaded and cajoled. We’ve even threatened with dire consequences, all to no avail. So now, unless a new Causeway editor can be found by November 2017, winding up proceedings will commence.

Just in case you are appalled by the thought of losing our community voice and are teetering on the brink of putting your hand up, this is what we need:

– preferably a team of two people (although, if there was one person we would give them loads of support), who has a minimum of five hours a month to spare. (We spend considerably longer than this on Causeway each month, but a very basic publication could be produced within this timeframe.)

– reasonably competent computer skills.

– the ability to write clearly and concisely, and the ability to edit articles which are submitted by other people so that they read easily and fit the requisite word count. This is something which comes with a bit of practice.

We have several reliable contributors and so there is not really a need to contribute new material yourself each month unless you want to – we often have had an excess of material.

As departing editors, we are saddened to see the imminent demise of Causeway and will give all the support and advice we can to anyone willing to take over. When we started Anne ‘held our hands’ until we were confident we could manage alone, so we will be there for as long as it takes for our successors.

We can’t emphasise enough what a sad day it will be if Causeway is wound up. Please give this some serious thought and don’t leave it to someone else to pick up the baton, because they just may not.
