Shires Farm Shop Update

The following update has been provided by Eames Engineering Ltd:

Currently the project is in its design stage where our team are working away at drawing up essential elements of the Construction Phase, foundation details, highway design, mechanical and electrical configurations and bringing major services on to site to provide power. Planning consent has been formally agreed, all but with some conditions which we are working through, all the major conditions have been addressed i.e. Archaeology, Environmental, Drainage, Highways, Ecology and The Pre Construction Phase Method Statement. We anticipate these to be discharged very shortly.

Meanwhile on site you will no doubt have seen recent activity. Our engineers have now set out the site and its estate roads, the site has been secured and a clear CDM boundary defined. We are currently conducting ground investigation works for our design engineers to enable them to calculate and design the foundations, there is also further archaeological investigation to conduct hence the stripping of topsoil in some areas.

Going forward and into June will see temporary access roads made onto site, office and welfare facilities for our team established along with on site car parking for our team. We will also commence to install a deep drainage connection in the adjacent field to connect our temporary welfare facilities to the main sewer.

We intend to keep the parish council updated as to our planned program of works throughout the project and will do this monthly. We will inform yourselves and the local community of roadworks and service connections that may have an impact on Smiddy Hill although these will be minimal with no road closures anticipated.

Should the Parish Council or members of the local community have questions regarding the construction phase or any part of the development and its impact we will gladly respond to these.

Eames Engineering Ltd have been appointed principal contractor and will consult with our client at weekly progress meetings whereupon we will discuss issues that are brought to light via this channel of communication.

We have appointed a security contractor who will monitor the site via live CCTV monitoring, could we ask that members of the public and the local community be vigilant whilst the site is un attended and that should they notice suspicious activity in or around the site they contact Golden Crown Security Services on 01132 401415 or the police on 999. We thank you in advance for your help.
